Hello my Friends,
Today is February 5, 2007 I'm here in the northern part of Wisconsin; I only can tell you
that the type of cold I'm experimenting here is something I've never have felt in my
entire life.
17degrees Fahrenheit below zero, is I will say too much for the body, you just have your
hands untapped and you get cold in a way that actually hearts you.
You sit in the car and after 10 minutes warming up and 15 minutes drive it still hasn't
warmed up inside und you just feel cold even with your jacket on and looking like an Eskimo.
You get out off the car and
again the icy wind. You put your jacket on and off you leave the hotel or the restaurant
and again put your jacket inside the building on and close it, because the wind shield is
something you never have experimented and the cold it brings with it.
You know I'll tell you I'm happy to be again in the southern hemisphere, where it is a little bit warmer, even the temperature is hitting also a low in that part of the world.
Compared with the low temperature here in the North I rather prefer the temperature in the southern part of the globe. Temperatures around 40 degrees Fahrenheit, is still better than below zero. The streets are almost empty because there is no sane human out in the street, the schools are closed because these temperatures are dangerous for the health.
On Saturday morning I saw something I only could move my head and wondering why people are so insane and running with temperatures like 18 below zero. They think this is healthy? They don’t know the danger they do to their body. Every one has his own belief about health and fitness.
I'm eager to go back; I think living in the northern parts of the globe you have to be born for those temperatures and I'm not the guy who was born for low temperatures... I’d rather prefer to sweat than have cold.
Talk to you soon.

Impressions Of A Traveler
Impressions Of A Traveler
I’m back on the road again and this time I’ll like to tell you something about my feelings of the weather.
It’s afternoon and I’m sitting in the plane on my way to the north, when looking outside you can see that the further the plane goes up-north the sun is slowly disappearing in her splendid light orange color so strong that you need sun glasses because when looking into the sun you have to close almost your eyes.
A few minutes later it’s almost dark and you only see the white spots of snow when looking down.
The image is beautiful but the fist thought which comes to my mind is:
-“how awful cold must it be outside..?”
And then I ask myself
- “who likes to be outside with that temperature..?”
But when you think about the cold the question comes to your mind: “What does cold really mean, when we say it is zero centigrade or 32 Fahrenheit, what does that mean it is not cold and not warm, that is what zero means. But when you have -5 or -10 you really cannot tell the difference, because it’s cold and you feel for doing nothing, just stay inside the house with your heater on.
I don’t know about you, but frankly spoken I never liked the cold at all, even when we were skiing as young kids, and walked over the frozen river because it was so awful cold that the river was covered with ice so thick that you could walk on top of the ice, but I really hate the cold.
I’m the kind of person who likes to lay under the sun even if possible on the beach and enjoy the warn temperature. I’m not born to live in the cold. You feel your bones stiff and you hardly can move your fingers and you really don’t like to work at all.
Some folks say that the cold is better for your skin it’s healthier and your skin doesn’t aging that fast, but when you still have cold even with a jacket and hand gloves it comes the moment were you hate it.
There are a lot of people who cannot escape from the cold, because they live in a place where it’s at least a few month cold, even if they complain about the cold weather they have to live there. On the other hand how many people are not aware of the cold at all?
Because where they live it never gets cold and they never have felt it, they even cannot imagine what cold is or what snow feels like they never have seen it in their entire life. I don’t know which people are better of…
Economically spoken the ones they live in the south, because they never need a heating system and they don’t have to spent money for heating oil. They don’t have to shovel the snow of their streets or put salt mixed with sand on the street because of the ice.
But anyway when you live in those parts of the globe you have to accept it and you have to live the winter month with a lot of limitations. Only if you are fortunate and can escape of the cold and spent the whole time in the South, imagine what would it be…?
-When you have to travel your only hope is that you will finish fast and can go back to the south were the temperatures are more comfortable….
Some folks may think differently I will accept it, but you can say what you want the sun is always better. You see it on the people, they live happier and always smiling and the population from the North is like their weather, cold and their look is sadder.
If you have some comments to make I would like to hear it….
